From Raleigh: Take I-40/I-85 toward US-421/High Point/Charlotte (14.3). Merge onto I-85 B: S/US-29 S/US-70 W via Exit 118 toward High Point. Take the Kivett Drive exit toward E High Point. The jail in Greensboro was built in 1975. It is approximately 8 stories and houses 500 inmates on average. The facility mainly holds pretrial detainees but also holds a small percentage of sentenced inmates, federal inmates and inmates waiting transfers. Captain C.D. Reid currently serves as the commander of the Guilford County Sherriff’s Office Detention Center. Contact this detention center at 336-641-6726.
